One of the things I love about living on the Westside is the abundance of things to do, especially in the summer. Today, I’d like to mention three summer festivals coming to the Westside that you won’t want to miss.

Taste the Nation – Culver City

Culver City is known for its restaurants, wineries, and amazing chefs. Although a bit pricey, Taste of the Nation is a culinary event with all proceeds going to fight childhood hunger. Join with top chefs, sommeliers, and mixologists for a culinary event like no other. Taste dishes from over 40 restaurants, taste some wine and beer, participate in an auction, and have fun watching the famous Waiters Race competition.

When: June 11, 12:30 – 4 p.m.
Where: Media Park, 9070 Venice Blvd., Culver City

Los Angeles Film Festival – Many Westside Locations

For the 22nd year, the Los Angeles Film Festival showcases short films, music videos, alternative online content, and feature films for your enjoyment. Signature programs include the Filmmaker Retreat, Coffee Talks, Master Classes, the Spirit of Independence Award, Fast Track (a film financing market) and Diversity Speaks (a day-long forum for content creators of color).

When: June 14-22
Where: ArcLight, 6360 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood; ArcLight, 395 Santa Monica Blvd., Santa Monica; plus other locations

International Surf Festival – Hermosa Beach

In its 56th year, the International Surf Festival celebrates all things beach. With such events as a lifeguard medley relay, volleyball, sand soccer, surfing, body surfing and more, everyone from 8 to 80 will find something they can enjoy.
