Over the years, I’ve watched as the Westside has grown and developed. One area that seems to draw in luxury is West Hollywood along the Sunset Strip. Once home to the odd counterculture, the Sunset Strip is now radically different, showing the world it has class. Sure, it is only a mile and a half long, but what you can find here is amazing.
Here are just a few of the upcoming projects in the area.
#1 8150 Sunset
Designed by Frank Gehry, this mixed used project will have retail, residential, and a 27,000 square foot central plaza.
8150 Sunset Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90046
#2 Sunset Time
Although the iconic House of Blues is now closed, the lot will not remain empty. Combined Properties and AECOM Capital has plans to create Sunset Time, a mixed used project with hotels, condos, apartments, retail space, and a nightclub. Most impressive will be the 6,000 square feet of digital billboards on the exterior.

West Hollywood, CA 90069
#3 1 Hotels at Sunset|La Cienega
As part of the mega-project on Sunset and La Cienega, 1 Hotels will occupy two 10-story towers. Original designs called for the James Hotel, but the luxurious 1 Hotel came in when James backed out.
8500 Sunset Blvd
West Hollywood, CA 90069
#4 The Residences at 8500
Also part of the Sunset/La Cienega development are two more towers that are going to hold either condos or an extended stay hotel. At this time, West Hollywood officials are still determining which best suits the needs of the area.
8500 Sunset Blvd
West Hollywood, CA 90069
#5 The Arts Club
This private club will sit where the Hustler store sat for two decades. However, the owners intend to go up, up, up with a none-story structure that includes office space, a gallery, the private club, and a rooftop pool and restaurant.
8920 Sunset Blvd
West Hollywood, CA 90069
#6 8950 Sunset
Another luxury hotel is coming to the strip. This six-story building will have 169 rooms, four residences, a rooftop pool, and restaurants.
8950 Sunset Blvd
West Hollywood, CA 90069
#7 West Hollywood Edition Hotel & Residences
This two building development will be a mix of hotel and luxury condos. The condos will feature terraces with full outdoor kitchens. Designed by Ian Schrager, the inventor of boutique hotels, West Hollywood Edition is sure to attract attention.
As you can see, West Hollywood is growing. This growth will certainly affect the real estate market throughout the area. If you’d like more information about West Hollywood or the Westside, please give me a call. I’d love to help you will all your home selling and buying needs in the area.
